Meadowbrook Community Meeting- May 10, 2016

Meadowbrook Community Center 7PM-8:45PM

I’m pretty excited about our upcoming May 10th meeting which is shaping up to be quite interesting. For our featured agenda item, we will have a family friendly slide presentation by Plant-for-the-Planet youth Climate Ambassadors and Michael Foster, founder Plant-for-the-Planet U.S.A. They will explore climate change challenges, opportunities and the actions

families can take during this significant time in history.

“Our generation is the first to feel the effects of climate change, and the last who can do something about it.” President Obama

Now that we have our annual elections behind us and the new bylaws approved, the MCC Sidewalks Committee has been busy applying for Neighborhood Park and Street Fund (NPSF) and Neighborhood Street Fund grants (NSF). We will report of our successes and ongoing efforts at this next meeting.
Our re-certification package that we submitted to NDC was accepted, no problems. Meadowbrook and Wedgwood CCs have joined forces to pursue a greenways project on 32nd Ave Ne and I’m still exploring ways to do some community service work in the LaVilla Natural with Meadowbrook CC members. Standing reports on the garden, crime and the website will also be presented and ideas on topics for future meetings in 2016 will, as always, be welcome. Agendas will be available at the meeting. Mark your calendars– Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.
