What a nice Fall we had! Looks like the moisture that makes it all possible has returned, so I guess we grin and bear it OR head south!
Our featured presenter will be Mr. Kraig Cook from Dept of Neighborhoods. He along with his Program Advisor, Amy Nyugen, will provide an update on the Your Voice, Your Choice (YVYC) program. They will talk about idea collection (project proposal submittals) and, if possible, timelines for submittal deadlines and selection of projects. Please come prepared with ideas and questions.
After we hear from Kraig, John Lombard, director of the newly formed D5 Community Network will speak to us about what he envisions will be the mission of this Network as opposed to North District Council, LCNA and other advocacy groups. I plan to encourage MCC to become involved in this group.
The Sidewalk Committee will provide an update on the various projects SDOT has been working on in our area and take any comments you may have on what has been implemented so far. We will also try to set our initial YVYC meeting.
Pam will report on the outcome of the JAMS Playground Beautification planning potluck held on October 26th. Many creative ideas were bantered around.
This is an early reminder regarding MCC officer elections which will be held in March 2018. Anyone can run for any of the four officer positions that include president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. Per the by-laws, candidate’s names have to be submitted by the meeting before the election (or January 9, 2018). As I have mentioned before, I intend to step down as president but stay on as vice-president.
Finally, the Community Garden and Orchards will soon be shutting down for the season.
Look forward to seeing you at the meeting. …… Dan Keefe, President
