“HAPPY” (76 min, Roko Belic, 2011) explores ideas behind our most valued emotion – happiness.
““Happy” ponders contemporary happiness via visits with folks around the globe … as well as experts
armed with fairly concrete conclusions on the matter. …. Their results so far point in directions that
… Happiness increases the more one is physically active, performs actions for the benefit of others
rather than for oneself, and feels close to family and friends. Having the opposite effect are obsessive
pursuit of wealth, material goods, status and image. “ (D. Harvey, Variety, 2011). But that’s just the
start of the discussion.
Measure your own happiness index by taking this survey
prior to viewing the movie. Survey results will be be part of the discussion following the movie,
a discussion facilitated by Laura Musikanski, Executive Director ofThe Happiness Alliance, home of
The Happiness Initiative and Gross National Happiness Index. Laura is a lawyer, an MBA, and the
former Executive Director of Sustainable Seattle.
Please join us for the film’s showing. It’s FREE and open to the public! Doors open at 6:30 P.M. The
film begins at 7:00 P.M with the discussion to follow.
