MCC Meeting Announcement For:
January 9, 2018; 7-8:30pm
I was late in reserving Rm1 so meeting will be in Rm11 (room to the right as you walk in).
We will not be having a featured speaker for this meeting but instead we will focus on several other issues.
I will provide an update on the Your Voice, Your Choice (YVYC) program. It has started with a short time line. Ideas will be due on Feb 2nd. I’ll have forms and ideas that folks can consider as potential project ideas to submit. You can also go on line to study up on the program. I just Googled “Your Voice, Your Choice,” or you can go to Your Voice Your Choice. I will also try to set a date for a YVYC meeting to prioritize and electronically submit our project ideas.
We will also entertain nominations for the board other than those currently proposed i.e., Pam Bowe- President, Dan Keefe – VP, Mike Reinhardt – Secretary, and Wilma Boyd – Treasurer.
We will need to allocate $25 for dues for our continued membership in Lake City Neighborhood Alliance (LCNA) if we indeed want to continue to be a member. We could also use someone to be our representative at their meetings.
The Sidewalk Committee will provide its usual update on the various projects SDOT has been working on in our area and take any comments you may have on what has been implemented so far. I plan to push hard for the completion of the sidewalk on NE 110th btwn 35th & 36th Avenues by Sept, 2018.
Status of JAMS Playground Beautification planning project will be discussed.
Emergency HUB status will be updated.
Look forward to seeing you at the meeting. …… Dan Keefe, President

LOCATION: Meadowbrook Community Center
ADDRESS: 10517 35th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125
At our March meeting we elected the existing Board to another one year term with one condition, that this would be the last term for Dan Keefe and Charlene Murray. Thank you and we hope to continue to serve the best interests of Meadowbrook. With that in mind, Pam Bowe will be running our May meeting while Dan visits his grandchildren in Helena, MT. He will be around to run the July meeting.
Our May 9th meeting will feature a representative from CM Juarez’s office and may include CM Juarez herself. In addition, we will have a representative from SDOT Safe Routes to School division (Stephanie) who will give us an update on our long awaited start to the construction (June 2017) of the sidewalk segment on Ne 110th between 39/40th Aves Ne. She will be this project’s key point of contact, so please be prepared to also ask any pertinent questions you might have. We will also hand out the latest milestone updates to Brian Dougherty’s spreadsheet that contains the list of the various sidewalk and crosswalks, etc projects.
Of the three proposals we submitted as part on DoN’s new Your Voice…Your Choice program (replaces NPSF), one was selected for final voting which is the 4-way stop at Ne 98th St and Ravenna which is being championed by Wilma Boyd.
There will be an update on the Emergency Hub and our inquiry into becoming a fiscal sponsor for Matching Funds projects. The committee formed to apply for funds to improve the grounds at Jane Addams MS is having trouble getting volunteers. Finally, the Community Garden and Orchards has held some 8 to 9 work parties since coming back to life in March. Work Parties are currently scheduled for 3-5pm every Sunday with a pot luck following.
Please mark your calendars and support Pam by coming to the meeting.
Dan Keefe, President
Happy New Year to you all,Time: 7:00PM – 8:30PM

I trust and hope you all had a good holiday season. For our first meeting in 2015 our featured presenter will be Brian Dougherty of SDOT who will present the 60% completion results of both sidewalk segments on NE 110th street. His projected schedule will also be provided.
We will also be joined by Emily Reardon and Jason Sharpley from SPU, they will give us an update on the progress of the Meadowbrook Pond and 35th Ave Confluence Project.
We have started a Meadowbrook Greenways Group which is currently a subgroup of Lake City Greenways. We will have a presentation on status of several proposed streets for Greenways treatments and take suggestions for others.
Standing reports on the garden, crime and the website will also be presented and ideas on topics for future meetings in 2015 will, as always, be welcome.
Mark your calendars– Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.

Our regular November meeting has been moved from Tuesday the 12th to Thursday the 14th, 7-9pm. The meeting, as usual, will at the Meadowbrook Community Center. The reason for this change was so that we could accommodate Rep. Jessyn Farrell’s schedule.
For our meeting—November 14, 2013
Rep. Farrell’s topics for discussion will include: education, health care, transportation, and others.
Other participants will include:
Deb Heiden, SPU – She will speak about status of security issues for Meadowbrook Pond now that construction is completed and it is open; and
Jason Sharpley, SPU – He will update us on the status of the Thornton Creek Confluence project.
This meeting promises to be interesting and packed with useful information.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
